What a Year!!!

It's February 13th, and I'm one month away from celebrating big time!

I have been sooooo busy with my life, that I've not had the time to blog... I ALWAYS say, "this year I'm going to take more time to blog!"  Do I actually follow through? Nope. 😞  Not even having the mobile app has changed things...

So, I won't promise that I am going to do better. I won't say, watch for updates every week or even bi-weekly. I will update when I can!

Soooooooo...

Back to the celebrating portion! 😉

2018 is a huge year in terms of things happening.

My only daughter turns 18 this year. My oldest son turns 21 this year. My youngest son turns 10 this year. I will be turning the big 4-0 this year!!!!!! Thankfully not all at the same time! LOL!

My only daughter graduates high school as well this year, and will be heading off to Oregon State University in the fall! She has come so far since 8th grade, I just cannot believe what an amazing young lady she has become. 💖

My daughter also gets to go on her first cruise with her best friend this spring. Then in June she gets the amazing opportunity to travel to Japan! I wish I could go do both things with her, but one day I'll get to go.

In the last year, I have had so much fun with my business. I started out strong with vendor events booked from April through until October! I was busy every weekend between June and September. I had the amazing opportunity to attend the 5th Anniversary Origami Owl Experience in Phoenix, AZ in July, and that was OWL-MAZING!! 😉😀

Just less than 2 weeks ago the Spring/Summer Collection was launched. Since I have been a part of O2, I keep getting awed by the amazing jewelry we have to offer! Have you seen this new collection yet?
These photos are from The Nest (that's our home office):

The following photos are ones I took:
I think this is the most gorgeous piece we've ever had! The picture does NOT do it justice!
My 9yo son was the model for this bracelet.
It fits up to a 7.5 inch wrist, which is too small for me sadly..
These charms... omg! Sorry this isn't a good picture, but you can see almost all of the new charms...
The bar necklace is amazing! This one says "Everything happens for a reason"

Now, I'm sure you are thinking, "She said she's celebrating... so why is she sharing all of this?"

Here's what I'm going to do...

Starting February 18th, I will be doing a month-long sale and give away in my VIP Group on Facebook to celebrate my ONE YEAR anniversary as an Origami Owl Designer! I will have mystery grab bags for sale, as well as other specials, and here and there I will also be giving away FREE stuff to celebrate! Added bonus for members who decide to join my team and become a designer as well!

So, if you are already a member of my VIP Group, HOORAY!! If you are NOT... then what are you waiting for? In order for you to join my VIP Group, you will have to first like my business page, then follow the link to my VIP Group and request to join. You will have to answer the 3 questions in order to be approved.

I'm so excited for this upcoming anniversary!!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Starting out fresh- New business!

March 18th, 2017 I started a new business, and I can't be more excited to share this with everyone!!

You might be wondering what the heck was I thinking? 👀

Ok, I'll tell you what I was thinking:   I absolutely LOVE this product line, I wanted a discount on purchases for myself, and lastly, WHY NOT?

I am now an Independent Designer with Origami Owl!
I mean, have you SEEN the jewelry yet??

It all started with this:

This is my work lanyard. I still work outside the home as an Educational Assistant in an elementary school. A good friend of mine, who I've known online only for about 10 years now, has  been a Designer with Origami Owl, or O2 as we designers call it, since the beginning... Well, she asked a simple question on Facebook: Who has to wear a badge for work?  I answered of course, and then I got a message from her that there was a sale on the lanyard locket badge holders if I was interested. What do you think I did? Well, you guessed right. I bought one!!  I even ordered extra charms to add to my locket. The original one came with a school bus charm, the pencil charm, a set of books with an apple charm, and the leaf charms.

I honestly fell in love with the charms and the locket!

Since March, I have been doing A LOT! The top photo is of me wearing the Hostess Exclusive look that I earned for FREE for the month of July. The next three photos are items that I put together for other people (I never watermarked these for some reason, lol). And the last photo is my typical booth set up for events.   I have done at least one event every month since starting in March, and I have only had ONE event where I didn't sell even one charm, which is amazing.

Just a couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend my first ever O2 Experience. This year's convention marked the 5th anniversary of O2! That's right, O2 has only been a thriving direct sale business for 5 years now, but it's been around a bit longer than that! Go take a look at how O2 started here:  https://kiralee.origamiowl.com/ourstory

Now I have a VIP Group on FB, and I'm working towards my first goal: getting enough points to earn the incentive trip to the Riviera Maya in March!! I have until December 30th to get an additional 80 points, which means I need to start building a team, getting my team volume to be no less than 2000tv a month, and getting no less than 500pv (that's personal volume) per month. My goal is to get a minimum of 100 points so I can take my daughter on the trip with me. Even if I only get 80 points, I can go on the trip just myself, but I really want my daughter to go with me so we can celebrate her birthday in style! The trip is just a few days before her 18th birthday!

I'll be updating this blog more, now that I have more exciting things to talk about!

Why Mia Bella Candles?

I have been asked this question many times recently- Why did I choose to sell Mia Bella Candles?

Here's why:
First of all, I have extremely strong allergies (I consider them to be severe) to anything scented. I can't even walk down the laundry isle or the candle isle in the stores without getting a headache and going into a sneezing fit. An online friend sent me a candle sample back in the fall of 2006, and it shocked me- I had no reaction to the scent. It was the signature scent- Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper. :o) That alone, the fact I had no sensitive reaction to the scented candle, made me want to try others...

Secondly, I was looking for a work from home job, and had been for over a year. I had been laid off from my retail job in 2005, and looked at many different scenarios. I had thought I found a good business I could do so I could stay home with my two children at the time. In reality, I still am with that other company, but I stuck with them for the product line (also helped me allergy wise). Then I found a fun business called Noah's Ark Animal Workshop- I was successful (in my eyes) with that for two years (and I would LOVE to get that restarted again in the future becasue it was fun and rewarding in many ways). But I didn't think what I was going to make enough just with NAAW, and didn't want all my eggs in one basket, so to speak. ;o) That's when my friend sent me the candle sample. As soon as I signed up, I put a lot of effort into it- getting business cards, purchasing the sample bag, telling all my friends about the amazing candles I found that didn't bother my allergies... I was having fun, many friends would ask me to bring my scent sample bag to birthday parties, and I would end up getting orders every time. For nearly two years, I was selling my Candle of the Month package almost as soon as it arrived on my doorstep. At one point I was doing at least $200 retail in sales per month. Not much, but at the time it was incredible for me.

Then family problems arose, and I had to quit all of my direct sales businesses because we moved out of the country for two years in 2009. These businesses were not available where I went. I spent the whole entire two years planning on which business I was going to start back up first as soon as I came back to the States.  My challenge was going to be moving to a new state. As soon as I arrived back in 2011, I called and got back onto the Candle of the Month Distributorship program and haven't looked back since!

A little about Scent-sations/Mia Bella

Mia Bella Candles are a proprietary blend of vegetable and palm wax, making them a cleaner burning candle than what you see in the stores now, and the wick is 100% cotton, with the base of the wick lead free. They also retain thier scent much longer, burn at a lower temperature, and can easily be cleaned up with just soap and water. Highly recommended fo9r people who have scent allergies or sensitive noses like mine! ;o)

Mia Bella Candles come in over 100 different scents. There are three different double wicked (for more even burning) jar sizes; 9oz, 16oz, and 26oz; 2.5oz votives; Mia Melts, for the flameless fans; and a few amazing lines of specialty candles that you WILL NOT FIND ANYWHERE ELSE!
Distributor options

If you think that Mia Bella is a good fit for you and my team, let me give you some options to work with. ;o)
Becoming a Distributor is only available in the United States and Canada at the moment.

  1.  Associate Distributor. This is a great way to get your foot in the door without a signup fee or minimum monthly requirments. You have the ability to purchase the candles at wholesale price (about 15-30% more than the Autoship distributor levels) and participate fully in the basic compensation program. You do not get a website as a general rule, but you may opt in for a company replicated website for $14.95 a month.
  2. Autoship Distributor. You must maintain a minimum autoship volume of $39.95 a month. With the autoship, you have a number of options to choose from, as well as the ability to purchase candles at BELOW wholesale price. A company replicated website is included with your autoship price. :o)
There are many ways to earn with Mia Bella!
  • Retail Sales- earn with home parties, craft fairs, "Smell and Sell" events, and many, many other ways!
  • Fundraisers- Help schools and other organizations raise money through fundraising! We have many options for fundraisers, even a specialized catalog and order forms, or create your own.
  • Residual income- Build a team and earn from your distributor sales at the same time as you are retailing products!
  • Qualified Vendor Program- Great new program that has no minimum selling requirements or signup fees, and great profit! Perfect for small business to help them boost business in their stores, or even mall kiosks! With a qualifying purchase you can get a FREE display rack! ;o)
Soooo much potential with Mia Bella, I could go on and on and on! But I will hold back and refrain from spilling everything, lol.
